Lopez was the second best starter for half of last season.
I’d much rather see him make a spot start than Coleman or Sonnanstine. But at the very least he eats innings for Iowa. The angst of signing Rolo to a non-guaranteed minor league deal is incredibly overblown and unwarranted.

Lopez had the 2nd best ERA among starters on the Cubs.
He’s not very good, but some of the hate is unwarranted. It shows how terrible the starting rotation was last year.

I don't think this is terrible
Rolo was ok. The angst really should be saved for Davis & Ortiz. I’d be OK with him getting the last spot in the bullpen if no one else steps up.
