Forget the others, Paisley is an unbelievable guitarist

would be worth going just to see that.

I definitely dislike country

But 100% agree with you – he is an incredible musician.

He is among my favorites.

His wife is a good actress too. For those who aren’t familiar with her she was the daughter in the remake of the Father of the Bride movies in the 90s and managed to make a sitcom starring Jim belushi halfway decent as she played Dana on According to Jim.

Will be in Minnesota too.

Love Brad Paisley.

His song “He Didn’t Have to Be” is going to be sung at a friend’s father in laws birthday party tonight in tribute by my friend’s husband since technically his dad is his stepdad but raised him and that’s what the song is about.

I saw The Band in '93 with the Grateful Dead

Levon Helm has always been one of my favorites.

Saw Levon (and his rather large band) couple years ago at Ravinia - great show

Health-permitting, he’ll be at New Orleans jazzfest this year. Finances/time-permitting, so will I.

I've always wanted to go to New York to catch one of his Midnight Rambles that...

…he has at his house. From what I’ve heard they’ll open it up to a small audience from time to time.

Even with his throat problems he still has that unique singing voice and can still bang the drums.

The only name that was familiar to me was

Chris Young. Somehow I don’t think it’s the one I’ve heard of.

I understand most of you don't listen to Country music...

but even for me, who only listens because his wife likes it, this is a Huge Country concert. Brad Paisly, 2010 CMA Entertainer of the year, The Band Perry, 2011 CMA Best new artist & Miranda Lambert, another huge Country star and one of my wifes favorites. She has been telling me all morning she wants to go to this big time.

Good for you.

This concert will sell out no problem at all. It’s a great lineup of musicians, not just country musicians. This will be a great concert to see at Wrigley, definitely glad they got this one.

As a STH...

I will be taking my opportunity to buy tickets to this concert when the time comes. Any of you been to a concert at Wrigley? What are the best seats for something like this in your opinion? Thanks!

by Brock I on Jan 20, 2012 2:48 PM CST reply actions

I love country

and this is one concert i would absolutely kill to see. I’ve seen Brad in concert before and he puts on a great show…great musician, great performer. Miranda Lambert would be great to see live as would Chris Young. The Band Perry and Jerrod Niemann not so much but still and terrific line up and its a great show to put in Wrigley.

Who cares about the field

or the neighbors, Friday night, Sat night concerts, a Bruce concert in September, why not just play every weekend the Cubs are gone and rename it Wrigleville Music Center?

by MikeJW on Jan 21, 2012 1:06 PM CST reply actions

Actually, the field did fine last year after the McCartney concerts

… I don’t have a problem with the Cubs doing this to raise extra $.

They are limited to three nights a year. It’s really not that big a deal.

I worry about the field but no sympathy for the neighbors who bought property knowing a ballpark was right there especially since if I say anything about airport noise living near Ohare I’m told I knew there was an airport there when I moved there.

My favorite story is a woman calling in and whining to WLS about coming home that day and her yard was trashed from Cub fans during her week vacation. The Cubs were in day 9 of a 11 day road trip so according to her Cub fans came down and trashed her yard when the team was out of town. (there are almost as many problems on non game days as game days down there and only less during the offseason because frankly it’s quiter when its below zero in January than 85 in July)

Got my email about the presale.

Thought I’d try to ask again to see if I can get a response. Asking any of you that have gone to concerts at Wrigley…best seats?

by Brock I on Jan 23, 2012 12:37 PM CST reply actions

Field seats are really the only way to go.

If you sit in the regular grandstand, you will be a long way from the stage.

Now, of course, field seats are going to be the most expensive. If you’re looking for cheap seats that are decent, the LF and RF corners of the upper deck are probably your best bet.

Thanks, Al. I want good seats...

so I’ll most likely pay for field seats. I’m sure it’s a cool experience to be down on the field for a show.

by Brock I on Jan 23, 2012 12:46 PM CST up reply actions

Definitely.

Was there for the Police and McCartney concerts. Good seats, and the sound is surprisingly good considering Wrigley was not built as a concert venue.
