Earlier today the Oakland Athletics, who have been a pleasant surprise all season, beat the Texas Rangers 12-5 to win the AL West.The Rangers will now have to play a one game playoff against the other with the other Wild Card winner. The Rangers were the favorite in the West and were expected to easily win the West or at least be challenged by the loaded Los Angeles Angels. Oakland was not expected to be any good this year but in baseball anything can happen. It is good for baseball to have new teams in the postseason like the Orioles and Athletics. I know i will be rooting for them come postseason.
