Callis on Cespedes
"I'd put a 70/Medium on Cespedes, which would put him in the 7-15 range on our overall Top 100 Prospects list"
"Cespedes would be an easy No. 1 prospect for any of the teams that J.P. mentioned."
I hope the Cubs can sign this guy.

Agreed.
It simply comes down to money, which is something that can’t continue moving forward with the spending restrictions. We have a financial advantage over most teams, even if that money may be tighter this year (no one actually knows at this point, that I have seen), we’d have more money than most going forward the next few years. Just sign him and flip Byrd for a decent AA arm, and then we’ll get ready for more frugality in the future.
Agreed. they most likely (obviously i dont know for sure) have a budget set aside for int'l signings
and if they dont use it they lose it. so i say get after it be aggressive and bring in soler and, if possible cespedes also.
And perhaps this is news just to me
but that link also says the first 53 picks for this summer’s draft are set. The Cubs have pick 6, 43 (supplement for ARam), and 54 (supplement for Pena).
Though given the note at the top, it would seem that third selection could be sliding down a spot or two if/when Raul Ibanez, Edwin Jackson, and Derrek Lee sin.
Nice to know that the Cubs will have three picks in the top 57.

Yeah, I've been trying to follow the draft order, couldn't figure out where Pena would slide to.
I’m actually a little surprised he slid all the way to 54… oh well.
I didn't know he was 26 already
Usually superstar players are already approaching their prime at that age. He’d be nice to have but I won’t be heartbroken to lose him.
Not quite seated at the Right Hand, but in the team photo
