Nice article about Ernie Banks
This is a pretty cool article about Ernie Banks coming up from the Monarchs to the cubs and what he had to deal with. There is a video too

Ernie also had a nice KC homecoming in the 1960 All-Star Game at Municipal Stadium...

I always enjoyed the Lead Off Man show before the games during Ernie’s era. You got to see his personality and his wit. He always had some long remembered quotes like “The Cubs will shine in 69”.
The Cubs were fortunate to have such a great player and human being for many years.
Really cool article!
Even more cool seeing how just last night I watched the Ken Burns “Baseball” inning that touched on Banks playing for KC and being called up to the Cubs. Funny how he didn’t have any interest in baseball as a teenager but wound up being so good at it.
Ernie is a class act and always has been! We’re lucky to have him and he looks great at 81. Happy belated Birthday, Ernie!

Ernie Banks...
…now that is a man who DOES deserve all the accolades, applause and love that Cubs’ fans bestow upon him. He’s earned it on class alone.

My hero growing up, even though I never saw him play.
I doubt there will ever be a reason for me to do anything but love Ernie Banks.
