Jazz Up Your Recs!

PrintAfter reading www.bluebirdbanter.com, the Toronto Blue Jays sbnation site, where rec'd comments turn blue with a little Maple Leafs logo replacing the thumbs up, I have created an extension for this site to do the same, except with a little Cubs logo replacing the thumbs up. Props to jmsmorris at BBB for the idea!
It only makes sense, as we bleed Cubbie blue here to have recced comments turn BLUE instead of green! The Cubs logo is still a work in progress (really hard to get a clear 15x15 picture of the logo), and hopefully I will update that soon. If anyone else installs and has any suggestions or runs into any issues, let me know and I will try and adjust the coding.

If there was any kind of notice for flagged posts, I'd be happy to.
I’m not aware of any kind of change on the site for 3 flagged posts though. I can’t make my code involved in the actual website coding… I don’t think SB Nation would like that.

Down side is it has to be a small picture.
I just took the code and put in http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/762456/larussa-game5-worldseries.gif and it cuts out almost all of it. lol

It doesn't work.
I can get the .gif to resize into the tiny picture, and it will play through once, but then it will try and replay and freeze entirely.
I can work on it, but honestly, the .gif is so tiny I can barely tell what it is when I know what I’m looking at.

It was repeating for me when I put that LaRussa in to test.
I was thinking maybe something small. Like the BCB logo then fades to Cubs logo, then to a baseball. Then just cycles through it.

If you want to make a .gif for that, I can add it in.
You can also steal my coding and simply change out the .jpg extension with whatever 17×17 pixel sized photo you want there.

I was thinking/asking if you could make it display unread 3+ rec'd comments a lighter shade of blue or something.
When I come to a post that’s in a series of rec’d it can be a little difficult to know where I left off reading. Especially when you return after a few days.

Even though we shipped him off to Miami, it's still okay to use the "Z" key.
I agree, the colors can make things difficult at times, but just keep hitting the “z” key like a red-headed gatorade cooler and you’ll get through all the comments easy enough.

Unfortunately I don’t have the ability to do that as I don’t have access to SB Nations code. I wouldn’t have any way to determine what you’ve read or not read because I don’t know how they go about determining that.
Sorry, didn’t understand your question – the issue is the same when they’re green though, still makes it impossible to find your last spot though.
