Which Cub robbed Barry Bonds' 714th home run?
I have a Cubs daily trivia calendar and today's trivia doesn't seem to be matching what my memory is. The trivia for today is:
"On May 9, 2006,Cubs outfielder Juan Pierre robbed Barry Bonds of what would have been his record-breaking 714th home run when he caught a fly ball as it topped the outfield fence."
I seem to remember it as Felix Pie who made that play and not Juan Pierre. Can anyone confirm my suspicion?

Pierre
My recollection is Pierre.
Here is a boxscore for the game
Pie didn’t play in that game

It was Pierre. A quick glance at the 2006 Cubs page shows that Pie wasn’t even on the big league club that year.

Poor penmanship on his scorecard.

With Szczur coming up scorecard penmanship will be essential
I never blame myself when I'm not hitting. I just blame the bat and if it keeps up, I change bats. After all, if I know it isn't my fault that I'm not hitting, how can I get mad at myself?

Yeah, it was definitely Pierre.
Supporter of Carlos Austin Boozer, and I don't want to see Dwight Howard in a Bulls uniform. Call me crazy.

None.
But it would have tied him with Babe Ruth, which was (as I recall) a big deal at the time.

Nope.
The NL career record (before Bonds broke it) was 733, held by Henry Aaron, who hit 22 home runs for the then-AL Brewers.

“Umm… the NL career home run record for left-handed hitters?” he lamely retorted…

Juan Pierre made two excellent catches in 2006.
He made the one in San Fran to rob Bonds of 714, which was awesome to watch. Pierre robbed the fans who showed up that night in hopes of seeing #714. The reaction by the fans was priceless.
Then Pierre made a leaping catch in the vines on Saturday, August 19, 2006. The bases were loaded with 2 outs in the top of the 9th, game tied 4-4. Up comes Albert Pujols. Pujols rips a 1-0 pitch from Michael Wuertz to deep center field. This one sure looked like it was going to be a grand slam. Pierre leaped up, and pulled the ball out from the top of the ivy. It wouldn’t have been a grand slam, but it would have given the Cardinals the lead and possibly the win if Pierre hadn’t made that catch. The Cubs won 5-4 on a walk-off single by Phil Nevin in the 10th.
But that catch against St. Louis and San Fran had me jumpin’ from my seat at home. They was awesome man.

Certainly seems to have worked out that way, hasn't it?

Actually, Patterson has had a much better career than Pie.

True.
Corey is teetering on 4,500 career MLB plate appearances. It’s looking doubtful at this point that Felix will get 1,500.
