I am happy to report that last month my Dad, who was diagnosed with Stage III-a lung cancer in October 2009, was told by his doctor that he no longer has the cancer in his body. All of the tumors are gone and my Dad is now a cancer survivor. He still has to undergo chemo treatment for the next couple of years to ensure that the cancer does not return. But this is wonderful news and I want to thank each and every one of you who prayed for my father and my family. I totally believe in the power of prayer and having a positive attitude certainly helped us get through this tough time. As we move forward, my family is going to be heading down to Florida next week for a family vacation. My Dad and I are talking about making a trip to Chicago so we can go to see a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. I look forward to it and I especially look forward to meeting some of you there especially Al.
Before I go, I just want to say that some people consider the Cubs and their fans to be cursed, but they are dead wrong. I consider it a blessing to be a Cubs fan and to be associated with all of the Cubs fans. It is a blessing to play day baseball at the best ballpark in Major League Baseball. And it will be a blessing to be part of the celebration when we finally win a World Series.
