Deal to renovate Wrigley almost done

Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Tuesday the city is in the "final stage" of negotiating a deal with the Cubs to renovate Wrigley Field. Two days before Opening Day, the mayor refused to say whether he would sign on to the Cubs’ plan to use 35 years’ of amusement tax growth to finance the Wrigley renovation. For the first time, the mayor made a demand that the Cubs use their own money to invest in the ballpark instead of pumping $200 million into the construction of the so-called Triangle Building adjacent to Wrigley Field.
