The Cubs and Reds have been rained out in Cincinnati, according to this tweet from Carrie Muskat:

There had been an earlier tweeted rumor that the game might be made up as a day/night doubleheader on Saturday, August 16, which is part of a scheduled three-game series, and the only other visit by the Cubs to Cincinnati this season. That's still unofficial, though.

There's also no word on whether the Cubs or Reds will readjust rotations to account for tonight's postponement; as of now, Paul Maholm is expected to take the mound for the Cubs against the Reds' Homer Bailey Wednesday night, same time, 6:10 p.m. CT.

This is the Cubs' first postponed game of 2012, after having had five games rained out in one of the worst baseball weather years in recent memory in 2011.
