Yes, there's a game today. The Cubs will probably lose again; if they do, they go back to a .333 winning percentage, again on pace for 108 losses. But you guys probably want to talk about Anthony Rizzo and when he'll be a major-league Cub.
No date yet, says Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald, quoting manager Dale Sveum:
"I don't know if there's a date on it," Sveum said when asked if Rizzo could join the club during the homestand. "We just don't have a date yet."
The front office is mum on specifics, but manager Dale Sveum said Rizzo wouldn’t join the team during the trip to Arizona this weekend. He offered no such assurances about the homestand that opens Monday against the New York Mets and Johan Santana.
Privately, several on the trip assume that’s when Rizzo will return to the big leagues —‘‘when they can have the parade for him at home," said one.
Tuesday, says Paul Sullivan in the Tribune:
The hype surrounding Anthony Rizzo soon will be tested, and how the Cubs' top prospect handles all the attention will be interesting to watch.
Speculation is the slugging first baseman could be called up from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday to face the Mets, to avoid facing left-hander Johan Santana on Monday.
Or, they could all be wrong, and Rizzo might not come to the major leagues until the next road trip, or until after the All-Star break.

Matt Garza made two starts against the Diamondbacks in 2011 and got a win and a no-decision out of them. That, alone, would be a great performance in 2012. He threw a total of 15 innings and allowed 18 hits, but just two walks, with 22 strikeouts and a combined ERA of 3.60 in those outings. Current members of the D'backs are hitting .284 (29-for-102) against him. I suspect there will be a lot of scouts from other teams watching Garza today.
Wade Miley is putting up All-Star-type numbers -- a 2.30 ERA, 1.057 WHIP and just three home runs allowed in 82⅓ innings. He has never faced the Cubs nor anyone on the current roster. You all know what that means:
Clearly, we are doomed.
