I'll talk more about the draft in the future and I'll have a short wrap up later. But for now, I'm exhausted.

Everyone but the I-Cubs won, and they didn't play.

Iowa Cubs

Also exhausted after getting swept in Oklahoma City. Heading back to Des Moines.

Tennessee Smokies

The Tennessee Smokies ate the Montgomery Biscuits (Rays), 3-2.

Starter Trey McNutt might have been a little wild, but he kept the Biscuits off the board. He pitched 5.2 innings and gave up no runs on three hits. He walked four and struck out three as he improved his record to 4-4.

Fireman Frank Batista entered the game with two on and two outs in the 8th and pitched out of the jam. He allowed a run of his own in the ninth, but still got his eighth save of the season for the Smokies. Batista allowed a run on a hit and two walks over 1.2 innings. He did not have a strikeout.

First baseman Justin Bour went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He was involved in all three Smokies runs as he scored once and had two RBI.

Daytona Cubs

The Dayona Cubs made the Bradenton Marauders (Pirates) walk the plank, 4-0.

A very impressive start tonight by Matt Loosen, who allowed but three hits over 5.2 innings. Loosen walked one and struck out six. His record now stands at 4-1.

Right fielder John Andreoli was 3 for 4 with a triple and an RBI.

Peoria Chiefs

The Peoria Chiefs harvested the Cedar Rapids Kernels (Angels), 4-0.

Gerardo Concepcion had his best professional start tonight as he pitched 5.2 innings and only allowed two singles. He did walk four and he struck out four as his record improved to 2-4.

Yao-Lin Wang entered the game in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded and nobody out. He ended the game with a 1-2-3 double play. It was his sixth save.

Center fielder Taiwan Easterling didn't hit a home run in his first 44 games, but tonight he hit his second in the past four games. The home run came with a man on in the sixth inning. Easterling went 3 for 4.

Shortstop Javier Baez went 3 for 4 with a triple. He batted one run in.
