It never rains in the desert they say. Go see the game, it'll be fun they say. Actually, it's always fun to go to a baseball game, especially any Cubs game. I went to the I-Cubs game tonight against the Vegas 51s. It was actually delayed because of rain tonight--in the desert of all places. After the jump, if I do this right, hopefully I can post a picture of an obviously non-updated roster of the I-Cubs the 51s are posting in their media guide and my take on the activity that I did see.

This game drug along. It took over an hour to get through just 2 innings...seriously. However, in the first half of the first inning, the Cubs took full advantage and put up a five spot on the 51s. Blake Lali hit a laser beam out of Cashman--it got out of the park in a hurry. Alfredo Amezaga came through with a second run on a Greg Rohan base hit on some heads up base running so that first half inning was really entertaining. I became a little worried when I saw that Casey Coleman was starting but he seemed fine...well until at least the middle of the second when he was removed from the game. I didn't see what happened but the trainer walked off the mound with him so it can't have been good and I haven't had a chance to look it up yet. Esmailin Caridad came in and promptly gave up two runs and the fielding began to resemble what we've seen at the big league level. Then the rains came. They stopped briefly but then they started again with a vengence with some lightning to go with it so the game was suspended to be completed tomorrow afternoon.
