Your Most Cherished Sports Memorabilia

Do you have the "Cardinals In The Damn World Series Again Blues"? I thought I'd try something here. It may have been done before, but I can't recall if it has. Just something to shoot the breeze about, is all.

I was wondering, fellow BCBers, what is the one piece, or collection of, sports memorabilia in your possession that you cherish? It doesn't have to be a baseball item. It could be hockey, football or even something from when your kid was a high school or little league star. Something that you'd run back into a burning building to get (not recommended). It could be something that you think you could cash in on in the future. You know...make a buck or 2.

I'll start.

I have the Chicago Bulls Starter brand winter jackets, with matching "World Champions" caps, from each of the Chicago Bulls championship seasons. Never worn. Still have the tags attached and receipts of days of purchase. Each jacket is in a vacuum sealed plastic bag. Each cap is in a sealed freezer bag. Someday down the road, I'm hoping to attend a Bulls convention that Pippen and/or MJ will be at, signing autographs. I'm not sure how much I'd pay to get them to sign, but I think it would be a good investment. These are a few of my collection. I wouldn't risk life or limb to save, tho.

Now for my "babies"...and these I would battle to the death to spare (OK, a bit over dramatic, I guess. No material things are worth dying for).

I also have, in the original boxes, with tags still attached and receipts, Michael Jordan's Nike "Air Jordans" of each of the championship seasons of the 90's. Yeah, big Jordan fan here. I'm not sure how much I'd pay to get him to autograph them, but, I'm thinkin' the word "mortgage" would come into play. I was told I should "put them out there" to see what price I could get for them. Not interested...yet. If I did tho, I'd only sell them as a set.

After reading this, it sounds like an ad to sell. It's not. I've already turned down offers on the jackets and caps. I'll probably just keep all of it and let my daughter do with them as she wants...after I'm "pushin' daisies". Hopefully have some "Chicago Cubs: World Champions" stuff to add to it.

So, that's it from me. I hope this gets read and people respond. Enjoy, if possible, the World Series. I won't be watching, but may lurk during game threads.
