In what should probably be renamed "BHP," Best Hitting Player. The choice of Cabrera over Mike Trout is defensible, but the margin of victory indicates there are still more than a few voters who aren't prepared to understand or properly evaluate relatively new statistics. I'd like to see the criteria for this particular award reevaluated, as they did for Gold Gloves this year. The grouchy old baseball men of old cannot become the savvy young baseball economists of today soon enough for my tastes.
