Rick Porcello

Hey, all.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I fell in love with the Cubs and Wrigley as a kid in the late 80's. WGN pumped games into my home after school and on summer days by the lake when it's too hot to be outside down here (Arkansas).

Anyways, none of that matters, really. i was just wondering what anyone here thinks about going after Rick Porcello? He's young, he's relatively healthy, and he's got good stuff. I would be reticent to give up much for him, but I'd like to have his arm.

Between him, Shark, Arrieta, Edwin, and New Wood (my nickname for fellow Arkie, Travis) you'd have a decent...if not above average rotation. Provided Arrieta and Edwin can throw fewer pitches and walk a few less.

You would then be able to put Rusin, Villanueva, Parker (another Arkie), Strop, hopefully Vizcaino, in the pen and have a battle for the 2 other spots available.

Anyone have any further thoughts on this matter?
