Ok, so I have been dead set against trading any of Bryant/Baez/Soler/Almora as I see them as a rare core of ppositional talent. However, I have a proposal of multiple multiple transactions that could lead to a legitimate shot in 2015.
First, sign Tanaka. I don't care if Theo has to offer him a free back rub during his visit, whatever it takes.
Second, trade Baez/Pierce Johnson/Soler to TB for David Price.
Third, sign Matt Garza to a 4 year/$50M deal.
Fourth, trade C. Villanueva/C.J. Edwards/Vogelbach to COL for C. Gonzalez.
2015 rotation of:
J. Veras (Closer)
A. Almora (CF)
S. Castro (SS)
A. Rizzo (1B)
C. Gonzalez (LF)
K. Bryant (RF)
M. Olt (3B)
A. Alcantara (2B)
W. Castillo (C)
A possible variation if Olt is indeed a bust would be to shift Bryant to 3rd and J. Lake takes over in RF.
I think that rotation has a true Ace, a strong #2, two strong #3s, a strong #4 and is balanced.
You have some thump in the lineup 3-6. It's not a murderers row but with that rotation and bullpen, you may not need it. What are your thoughts?
