Yesterday I received a letter in the mail stating that my number had been selected for Cubs season tickets. Initially I was very excited, but then reality set in. I signed up for season tickets approximately seven years ago with the hope that by the time I retired the Cubs would not only be fielding a good team, but I would be living in Chicago.
There are two problems, The first is that I live in Austin, TX. The second is that I wasn't planning on retiring for another 25 years. In lieu of a Christmas miracle, I'm not sure what to do.
I believe that if I don't purchase tickets now I have to sign up on the list again. So is there any fan out there who would be interested in season tickets for face value of what it would cost me to get them? I'm toying with the idea of getting them and trying to resell them, but that's an awful big investment with the team we're putting on the field next year.
Or maybe I should just put my name on the list again...
