Sorry, Tony Campana fans. The speedy outfielder won't be back in a Cubs uniform, as he has been traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks:

Leal, 17, went 6-2 w/ a 2.44 ERA, 70K, 11 BB in 14 appearances (12 starts, 70.0 IP) for the Dominican Summer League Dbacks last season.

Castillo, 17, went 2-4 w/ a 5.40 ERA in 14 appearances (8 starts) for the same minor league club, striking out 41 and walking 17 in 46.2 IP.

It's really hard to project 17-year-old pitchers, but at that age, both clearly have upside, as general manager Jed Hoyer stated:

Hoyer on the Campana trade: "We got two projectable arms for Tony and we feel really good about these two guys.

I know many of you are disappointed to see Tony go. In reality, he wasn't going to make the team and would have, if he had stayed in the organization, spent the year at Iowa. I'm not sure what the Diamondbacks' outfield situation is, but with Jason Kubel being one of their starting outfielders, there's a guy you could pinch-run for in the late innings. I'd say Campana has a shot at making the D'backs' 25-man roster, and that's good for him.

I wish him the best. He's fun to watch. He could easily be back playing at Wrigley Field in another uniform this year.
