Moving from workouts to an actual game, the Cubs will divide themselves into two groups and play an intrasquad game Thursday. Follow along... if you can.
The Cubs will play an intrasquad game this afternoon, beginning "around" 2 p.m. CST, according to reports from Mesa.
There is no broadcast coverage of this game. At all. Thus, to follow along, you'll have to check Twitter for play-by-play from some of the beat writers. Hopefully, between all of them, we can get a full account of what's going on at HoHoKam Park. My understanding is that this game will go five innings.
Here are the lineups:
White Team DeJesus CF Castro SS Rizzo 1B Soriano LF Schierholtz RF Navarro C Stewart 3B Barney 2B Hairston DH Blue Team Valbuena 2B Sappelt CF Castillo C Nelson 1B Soler LF Baez SS Lake 3B Jackson RF Bogusevic DH
Pitchers for this game include Chris Rusin, Cory Wade, Trey McNutt, Nick Struck, Robert Whitenack and Rafael Dolis.
You'd think the White Team would be favored to win this game, but, in the immortal word of Joaquin Andujar: "Youneverknow."
Play ball! And, of course, discuss amongst yourselves.
