MLB.com reported 2 days ago that Ian Stewart is starting the season on the DL due to fluid on his left quad. He can take BP and fielding practice but essentially can't run.
Sveum is giving the 25 man roster spot to Brent Lillibridge. Alberto Gonzalez and Edwin Maysonet, two NRIs, have also been given some consideration.
What do you think about Stewart? Isn't it time the Cubs cut their losses with this guy and just move on? Personally, I'm sick of waiting on him. It looks like the Cubs are going to be platooning the position again this year.
