I've been waiting for tonight ever since Vancouver eliminated Boise in the Northwest League final game. All four full-season teams start play tonight, and Carlos Marmol won't relieve for any of them. I'm going to be monitoring the Daytona (High-A) game, where the D-Cubs host Milwaukee's Brevard County Manatees. Austin Reed gets the ball on opening day, opposed by lefty Jed Bradley.
In Geneva, the Kane County (Low-A) lineup has already been posted as Chen 7 Amaya 4 Vogelbach 3 Candelario 5 Shoulders 0 Hernandez 6 Contreras 2 Zapata 9 Martin 8 Johnson 1-RHP. Velasquez goes for Quad City, which is now in the Astros family.
The Tennessee Smokies (Double-A) travel to Pensacola, sending out Dallas Beeler, who will be opposed by Rogers.
The Iowa Cubs (Triple-A) send Chris Rusin to the hill to oppose Albuquerque's Fife. there may be some runs in that game, as that field is known for high-octane offense games.
All games are audio streamed for free on milb.com. Browse the schedule icon, or ask for help below.
Anything you can add from any games will be helpful, as it will be tough for any of us to keep in touch with all four games. The better these guys do, the quicker the parent club will have in-house replacements.
The parent club wins a road series, and four season openers tonight. Enjoy a game if you have some time, and be sure to visit Josh's update tonight. Still time to add the milbtv package, at forty for the season.
And my radar gun should arrive today. Yay, baseball.
