Accountability

I recently read that the Cubs are playing above their record and should expect more wins in the future. I say that is pure luck. I love this team but I think it is about time to start holding players accountable for their play. Why do we keep rewarding sloppy play in this new "Cub Way" instead of benching, demoting, or fining players. I thought some of the keys new management was installing was better defense, plate discipline, and following a game plan, basically being prepared. I haven't seen much of this except from Wood, DDJ, and Valbuena. I think it is time to stop running their mouths and actually do what they said they would and start holding these guys accountable. My first action would be a shock and all tactic. I would demote Castro for the minimum amount of time to work on his defense and plate discipline. Castro is one of the faces of the club and gets away with the most crap, from errors to NEVER walking. Soriano seems to have better plate discipline (SEEMS). I know this will never happen but imagine the impression it would make in the system as a whole and a word to future players about the commitment this club stands for. Something needs to happen and this is just a thought.
