Cubs Grades for the first Trimester of 2013

It has been a very frustrating start to 2013. Grades through roughly the first third of the season. It is easy to see why we are where we are.

A's

Russell - On pace to pitch 88 games - don't burn him out

Gregg - pleasant surprise - most likely to drop

Wood - I like everything I have seen from him this year

B's

Feldman - Why do I feel he will not be here in Aug

Shark - Most of 6 losses have not been his fault

Rizzo (barely) - Got to get the average up

Schierholz (barely) - It just seems like he is playing better, but he is on pace for 20 HRs and 68 RBI's which is a fairly average total for a RF

C's

Soriano - April was crappy, May was much better

DDJ - Defintion of average or remarkably unspectacular

Valbuena - though he has exceeded expectations, let's face it - he is average

Castillo - Got to hit for power and get better at blocking balls

Navarro - PH he has been great, behind the plate (home plate that is) not so much

Villanueva - Sveum is not utilizing him correctly

D's

Castro - Frustrating

Barney - Punchless

Hairston - Needs to hit for average

Borbon - Not the spark off the bench I was expecting , but has some tools

Sveum - Manage the bullpen better!

F's

Rondon - Raw and unpolished and it shows

Marmol - Please DFA

Jackson - Needs a fire lit, most likely to improve (as it will be hard to be worse)

Camp - At times worse than Marmol

Incomplete

Garza

Fujikawa

Ranson

Sweeney

And there you have it. Let me know what you think!
