We're now up to date here through Tuesday with this set of construction-work photos from Wrigley Field. Here's what BCB's David Sameshima reported to me:
It looks like they were doing more water line work on Sheffield. They have excavated a larger area on Sheffield. It is the same area shown in my photo from yesterday in front of Gate Q. Outside of that work, it seemed pretty quiet on Sheffield. It doesn't appear that any work has been done on Waveland. They have excavated quite a bit in the northeast corner of the triangle lot. Much of this work appears to be new.
David also sent photos (numbers 3-6) of the work being done in front of the Cubs Store at the corner of Clark & Addison setting up for a tree-lighting ceremony which will happen Thursday, December 4 at 5:30 p.m.
Before that ceremony, you can participate in a holiday toy drive benefiting children at Lawrence Hall Youth Services to conclude the team’s yearlong 100 Gifts of Service. You can donate toys at the Cubs Store, and everyone is invited to attend the tree-lighting ceremony. Hall of Fame pitcher Fergie Jenkins will be joined by Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts, President of Business Operations Crane Kenney and representatives from many of the organizations that benefited from the team’s 100 Gifts of Service this year.
