Should The Cubs Go After Any Of The Remaining Free Agents?

At least 28 players are left on the free-agent market. Should the Cubs add another player to camp?

I didn't expect the Cubs to sign Emilio Bonifacio, but they did. Perhaps he'll surprise me and become a decent utility player.

The Cubs now have 65 players in camp, presumably, enough to populate a 25-man roster. There are still at least 28 (by my count; I might have missed a couple) players remaining who were granted free agency at the end of 2013 who are yet unsigned. They are:

Nelson Cruz, Stephen Drew, Kendrys Morales, Andres Torres, Kelly Shoppach, Placido Polanco, Juan Pierre, Travis Hafner, Laynce Nix, Brandon Inge, Austin Kearns, Casey Kotchman, Andrew Bailey, Chris Capuano, Octavio Dotel, Frank Francisco, Joel Hanrahan, Jon Garland, Jair Jurrjens, Jeff Karstens, Ryan Madson, Jason Marquis, Jeff Niemann, Oliver Perez, Johan Santana, Ervin Santana, Joe Saunders, Barry Zito

I know some here have suggested signing Cruz; I'd be wary given his PED suspension and his age. The rest of this list doesn't look too promising. In the past, guys like Torres, Shoppach and Inge might have looked good added to the Cubs' roster, but given their ages now, I'd say "pass," just as all the teams have done so far.

Among pitchers, Capuano is intriguing. So is Jurrjens. Hanrahan and Johan Santana might be, with the knowledge that they might not make it back after injuries.

Do you think any of these players should be given a minor-league deal by the Cubs? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
