Hey Hey Everybody. it's the Captain! How is everyone? Pretty damn blah after today's game right?I sure as hell was. not only having a so-so dialysis treatment, then work, but man, that 9th inning was terrible. The worst I've seen and felt in a while. It got to the point I broke (and owe my job) a couple dishes, glasses, and even an order of fries and onion rings. After cooling off, I sat, and thought, and thought the age old question: WHY IN THE BLEED CUBBIE BLUE HELL AM I A CUBS FAN?!
Because...well let's face it. To me, we have a lot in common. We can't catch breaks, we seemed cursed (them with a goat, me with FSGS) (Look it up, that's what I have) every year it's a roller coaster of emotions, crazy moments, happy and sad times, and even some random trades (have one ex, gain an awesome woman). The Cubs are scrappy, willing, able, at times awesome, and at times tend to "screw the pooch."
But isn't that like everyone else? Aren't we all our own personal Cubs team? We rise, we fall, but we sure as hell have fun and get back at it the next day! Like me, I will get a kidney (and in the process drink ALL THE ALCOHOL, but that's not point) and the Cubs will get a World Series title. It's a matter of keeping positive. I see Rizzo, Castro, E-Bon, and Bryant, Almora, Soler, Baez, and I have hope. I see something that hasn't been in this club in what seems like ages: God given talent that WE BELIEVE IN.
My life will get better. I'm a pretty damn positive guy, I stay as positive as I can, and no matter what, I'm always upbeat, singing, and even dancing. The Cubs are always trying their best, and will always have our hearts.
Except our bullpen. Fuck those guys
