Cubs need a veteran leader that knows how to win

I'll make this a fairly short fan post but it punched me in the face multiple times throughout tonight's game that this team needs someone that can make the other players better. Emilio bonafacio was the most fired up guy tonight, first to greet Rizzo after what should have been the game winning bomb...did anyone else notice that he out of all the guys on the team was at the top of the dugout stairs and had some passion to finally be leading in a ball game. I didn't see much of that from the other players. Sure a few other guys stepped up tonight like valbueana and junior lake, but we need someone to lead the charge of this mixed bag of young budding talent and hope to be to overachievers.

Oddly, Gary Gaeiti comes to mind as a guy that came in, old savvy vet, led by example and showed the guys not the way to win but how to give it your all and execute in clutch situations. He was invaluable during the cubs run that year and definitely made the players around him better....like an unselfish point guard in the nba. I understand it's not apples to apples but there are guys that set the tone for a lineup and the way a club plays on the field...they can be, but don't have to be stars.

I would like to see the cubs bring in that sort of leader for the next few years to help translate the real winning culture attitude to the field...we don't have anyone close to doing that.
