Okay let me start by saying I am no GM or manager. I am just another die hard Cub fan who loves this team too much to watch it stink this bad. I am a 32 year old optimist also and think that with a extra player or two we could be playoff bound this year. Okay before the Kool-Aid jokes begin lets all recall what happened with the Dodgers last year. They SUCKED! No other way to put it other than that. They were completely awful. Then Puig came up and sparked them all to play to potential and they went on a long winning streak. Why can't the Cubs do the same thing? I know the first reason people will say is talent. I disagree we have a very good amount of talent on this team but we do need to add a couple of bats. I believe that promoting Bryant and either trading for a outfield bat or 2B could start the move. We also have to start Bryant, Lake, and Olt every day. No more platooning for Lake and Olt. They need the constant playing time to prove themselves and find their grove. The other option is also calling up another person to play 2B, not Baez. Baez needs to play in the minors more. He is still learning plate recognition and needs defensive help.
Okay let the jokes begin.
