The beginning of the circus that was Friday night in Milwaukee. - Mike McGinnis

Boy, that escalated quickly.

I mean, that really got out of hand fast.

THE THREE GOATS:

  • Big Goat - Travis Wood. There were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident.
  • Goat - Justin Ruggiano. Three opportunities with runners on in the first five innings, and nothing to show for it.
  • Kid - Welington Castillo. Also had several chances with runners in scoring position and also came up empty.

THE THREE HEROES:

  • Superhero - Luis Valbuena. All courtesy of his ground-rule double in the third.
  • Hero - Mike Olt. See, it pays to bat eighth.
  • Sidekick - Uh... Travis Wood. Oh, I get it. His bad outing was all part of his master plan to make his base hit stick. Well played, sir. Well played.

Valbuena jumps to the top of the plus/minus chart, and Travis Wood thinks back to better days of game scores above 15.
