How Much Would You Give Up For Giancarlo Stanton?

This question came up in the latest game recap discussion thread and I know Al has talked about it a bit in the past. Should the Cubs consider a run at Stanton and if so, how much should they be willing to part with?

With his 30th and 31st home runs last night, Giancarlo Stanton tied Jose Abreu and Nelson Cruz for the MLB home run lead. Seven of his 31 homers have flown over 450 feet. This guy absolutely crushes the ball. He's also only 24 and is batting .292 and has a 4.8 fWAR. He may very well be the biggest offensive asset in the entire National League and is in a unique position on a team that is more likely to trade him than to try and build around him for the future. If Loria does indeed move him, he'll undoubtedly want a few top prospects in return so that he can continue to build a decent team as cheaply as possible.

The Cubs have the best farm system in baseball and are loaded with potential trade chips. It really seems like the best fit if indeed the Marlins wanted to move him before he becomes expensive and if the Cubs FO were willing to part with some of their top talent. Which is where the rubber really meets the road. The Cubs have a ton of prospects and, yes, we love them all, but at some point they're probably going to have to move some of them for major league talent. Theo has certainly said as much.

I'm not really one for figuring out base levels on trades like this. Will it take three top prospects plus a couple of lower prospects to get this deal done? More? And if that's the case, who is untouchable to you? For me, I think Bryant is probably the only real untouchable. I'd be supremely hesitant to move Baez, Russell or Soler but I would in the right circumstance (and this is clearly the right circumstance). You have to think one of those three gets moved if the Cubs put together a package.

Here's a starter package: Jorge Soler, C.J. Edwards and Albert Almora plus two lower prospects. Or do they demand Baez or Russell? Perhaps our resident prospect guys have a better idea what package it would take to get this done. I just think it's an interesting (and possibly contentious) topic for discussion.
