April 2014 had me crisscrossing the country from Chicago to Pittsburgh to New York City back to Chicago to Cincinnati for Cubs games and gigs for my band Bad Teenage Moustache.
April was the month that defunct non-mascot Billy Cub got into a row at a local Wrigleyville tavern. It was the month Wrigley Field turned 100 -- on that day the Cubs lost dramatically in an all-too-familiar fashion. It was a month where Emilio Bonifacio batted .337, collecting 11 hits in his first three games as a Cub! It was the month the Cubs traveled all the way to NYC to not score a single run in the frigid Bronx. It was freezing cold at Wrigley too, with the exception of Easter Sunday when I showed up at the park only to find my friends and family at the ballgame surprising me for an early 40th birthday party. It was the month my girlfriend's grandma died. Conveniently for me, in Cincinnati where the Cubs just happened to be playing!
It exhausted me just looking at these pictures. All the traveling. All the beer. So many losses. So much booing! Rock and Roll....
But let's start with the nice stuff... Happy Birthday Wrigley!
Now the Booing....From the end of that same game....
But Cubs fans weren't the only ones booing in April! Here's what happens when you wear Cubs gear to Yankee Stadium and sit in the cheap seats.
And then there was Billy Cub who got in a fight at a bar when some jerk took off his mascot head.
Actually...there were two Billy Cubs! Were....
And then there was this guy...
And this Guy...
What a month! Hope 2015 is a lot less ugly!!
