Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs gathered moss against the Round Rock Express (Rangers), 6-4.
Starter Dallas Beeler went 6.2 innings and allowed four runs on five hits, although two of the runs were unearned. Beeler struck out three and walked one.
Yoervis Medina took the loss in relief of Beeler when he gave up two runs in the top of the eighth inning. The final line on Beeler was two runs on two hits over 1.1 innnings. Medina struck out one and did not walk a batter.
Jorge Soler and Mike Olt were both 0 for 4 in rehab assignments.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans slashed the Winston-Salem Dash (White Sox), 8-4.
Jeremy Null's first Pelicans start was a rough one as he allowed four runs on seven hits, including two home runs, in only five innings. In typical Null fashion, however, he did strike out four and walk no one.
Josh Conway pitched the next two innings without allowing a hit or a run and got the win. He did walk one and he struck out one.
Michael Heesch pitched two perfect innings for his second save. He struck out three.
Third baseman Jeimer Candelario was a perfect 4 for 4. He was also hit by a pitch. Candelario had two RBI and scored once.
DH Daniel Lockhart was 2 for 4 and scored twice. Left fielder Kevin Brown went 2 for 5.
South Bend Cubs
A comeback fell short and the South Bend Cubs were drilled by the Lansing Lugnuts (Blue Jays), 5-4.
Zach Hedges started and took the loss. Hedges tossed six innings and gave up four runs on five hits. He walked two and struck out one.
First baseman Jesse Hodges went 3 for 4 with a two-run double that was part of a three-run eighth inning.
Left fielder Charcer Burks was 3 for 5. Right fielder Kevin Encarnacion was 2 for 5 with two runs scored.
Shortstop Gleyber Torres was 2 for 5 with a double.
Eugene Emeralds
The Eugene Emeralds vacuumed up the Tri-City Dust Devils (Padres), 9-4.
Carson Sands continued his strong start to the season by giving up just one run over five innings, and even that run was unearned. Sands allowed four hits, walked none and struck out four.
Dave Berg faced the final four batters and retired them all for his first professional appearance and first professional save. He struck out two.
It was a big day for left fielder Donnie Dewees, who hit three doubles and had four RBI in a 3 for 5 game. Dewees scored once and also stole one base.
Right fielder Eloy Jimenez hit a solo home run in the first inning, his first of the season. Jimenez went 2 for 4 with a walk.
