Rookie Cubs Make History

You have to believe that the young and inexperienced Cub bats played a pivotal role in Saturday's history making at Wrigley Field. Think about the fact the last time the Cubs were No Hit was with 1965 team of Banks, Santo, Williams and such by the Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax of the Dodgers. I do not think that Hamels is in that class yet. The young Cubs seemed to be easy fodder for Hamels. Not many hard hits or outs from the Cubs. Cub batters total 13 K's for day. That has been the norm for the Cubs too many times this season. Have to believe a more veteran line-up would not have allowed the Phils a shut out and No Hitter. That was the double insult. This is turning into the Summer to Remember but for the wrong reasons. Unfortunately, Hamels may have begun another Cubs late summer slide. Will keep hoping these young Cubs will regain their swagger before it's too late and the Wild Card is gone.
