Ken Macha Fired
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2628358
I am sure that this will further annoy the masses who do not like the hiring of Lou Pinella. The A's have fired Ken Macha following the ALCS loss to Detroit. Joe Girardi and Bruce Bochy are thought to be at the top of the A's list of replacements.

I tend not to want people Billy Beane fires...
What the hell did Macha do anyway?
He apparently was fired for being mean.

Billy Beane and I agree on one thing
Look for Ron Washington to be named new Oakland manager very quickly.

re:
I agree, if you have a Beane-esque GM. Alas, we do not.
Macha
Beane was never wild about him (if you remember, he was fired two years ago when he wanted a raise only to be rehired a few weeks later when he came down on his contract demands) and now players were griping that he distant and uncommunicative. Beane didn't have to be told twice.
Yes, Beane believes managers are fairly interchangeable, so he's not going to stick around with one who's upsetting the players and not listening to him much either.
When I saw this...
Billy Beane
uh oh...
<backing away from the Billy Beane conversation>

If you haven't I bet you would enjoy them. I think it's great he does all that stuff.
