Send E-mails to Fukudome telling him to come here

Al's diary got me thinking.  Let's ALL tell Fukudome what a great place Wrigley Field is and what a great ballclub are Cubs team is.  Here's a link from his own website:

http://www.fukudome1.com/information/index.html

Be warned though, click the button on the LEFT HAND side.  DO NOT CLICK THE RIGHT HAND SIDE BUTTON!!!!  That button will clear everything you write.  I already wrote him saying that the fans here sing songs and chant during the game just like in Japan.  I can't think of any other place where the audience get into the game as much as Wrigley.  Add in your own points if you would like!  Enjoy!

Go Al for coming up with this idea

Thanks for the Great Work
Guys.

Here was my translated version. Really funny.

At the very least, he'll get a kick out of these:

"Chicago live in is very good. It is really a great American city. A mix of people from around the world here to live on your own. New York, like more happy.

I am grateful to you if you were the Cubs sign considering! We Stadium, one of America's true landmark baseball stadium. Every day it is very beautiful. And the fan capacity to fill it, even when the team is bad - it is good now!

Fukudome here - San Please join us. Here love baseball! "

Wait 'til next year. And the next. And the Next. And the next after that too.

I love how his Web site...
...has "I am No. 1 Slugger" as a tagline. Indeed you are, Mr. Fukudome. Indeed you are. Now get the heck over here.
Ladies and gentlemen, your 2008 Chicago Cubs starting outfield: Soriano-Pie-Fukudome. Let it be.

In addition to his actual hitting prowess...
... that's a play on his uniform number.

Which is available in Cub pinstripes (no one had it in 2007).

Will he really be as good as our last No. 1?
I know Dusty would give our old No. 1 more playing time if he were still in charge of the ship and we got Fukudome.

Initram's Letter
Mr Fukudome-

I am writing to you today as a life-long Chicago Cubs fan.  I am 34-years old with a wonderful wife, son, and daughter on the way.  My father has been following the Cubs his entire life as well.  While he hopes to see a Cubs championship in his lifetime, his ultimate wish is that my kids and I are able to see it in our lifetimes.

I have been following the Cubs very closely for the past several years, especially since our magical season in 2003.  At the end of our 2006 season, our General Manager, Jim Hendry, was on a mission to improve our team to win the World Series.  He did exactly that.  Our manager, Lou Piniella, is the best manager to help get the Cubs to end our 100-year drought without a championship.  I firmly believe that you are the missing piece that can get us to win the World Series in 2008 and beyond!  Many other Cubs fans all over the world believe this, too!

As Al Yellon mentioned in is letter to you, "You are exactly what the Cubs need -- a left-handed hitting right fielder who plays excellent defense, who gets on base often by both hitting well and drawing walks, and who can hit a home run on occasion."  I cannot agree more - you would be perfect for the Chicago Cubs, and the fans would support you.  Right field in Wrigley field was recently occupied by a superstar that helped bring baseball back to its popularity in 1998 -- Sammy Sosa.  While Sammy is arguably viewed as the best right fielder in Chicago Cubs history, we are asking that you occupy right field and do something more important than he did - helping us win our first championship in 100 years!

Several of my family, friends and blog acquaintances may be writing similar notes to you.  I hope you don't see this as a nuisance, but rather as a demonstration of how loyal Cubs fans we are, and how welcomed we would make you feel when you join our team!

We have a jersey reserved for you.  http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff208/cpm023/Fukudome.jpg

All the best,
Paul

Great work
I am hearing that he might prefer to have "Kosuke" on the back of his uniform though.  "Fukudome" doesn't sound very nice when pronounced poorly by English speakers--and apparently he is aware of this.

That'd work...
... along the lines of "Ichiro".

Hope we see such a jersey in blue pinstripes soon.
