With Iowa having a scheduled off day and the Smokies and Daytona rained out, Kane County has the day all to themselves. Fortunately, they won.

With the draft coming up Thursday, I decided to look at a specific player in the system as a look to the future.

Everybody won, except Kane County, who had to drive to Burlington, Iowa.

The Smokies used the spoils of the Ryan Dempster trade to sweep a double-header from Jackson. The rest of the Cubs system all lost.

While Albert Almora didn't play Wednesday night, and weather prevented play the next night, it was sure fun having sixth row seats behind home plate to watch Pierce Johnson for 10 bucks.

Time to vote for the minor league pitcher of the Month. Daytona continues to roll and Kane County breaks a four-game losing streak. Iowa has more trouble with New Orleans.

The Daytona Cubs and Javier Baez exploded over the Manatees in a big win. The Iowa Cubs set a franchise record for striking batters out, but lost in extras anyway. The Smokies and Kane County were blown out.

The Cubs system lost all four games today.

The Smokies had strong starting pitching and timely hitting to down Birmingham. The rest of the system struggled, except for Kane County, who were just all wet.
