Blackhawks, Stanley Cup Make Another Wrigleyville Visit

During last night's game, some of the Blackhawks returned to Wrigleyville with the Stanley Cup, this time visiting several of the rooftop clubs on Sheffield.

BCB cameras caught this scene, along with a shot of the large crowd that had gathered on the street below. I believe -- and Blackhawks fans, correct me if I'm wrong -- that's Dave Bolland holding up the Cup with Adam Burish to his right.

Tom Ricketts Visits The Bleachers

During yesterday's game, new Cubs owner Tom Ricketts walked all around the ballpark talking to fans (including stopping by our section in the LF corner). Here are two photos (a second after the jump) of his visit to the right field bleachers.

A New Addition To Wrigley Field

BCB photo by David Sameshima

If you were at Wrigley Field or saw the right field corner on TV this past weekend and thought "something looks different", you were right. This corner, where there used to be large metal doors, now has see-through gates like the ones on the outfield wall in right field. The gates were installed to help move the concert equipment in and out during the road trip, and it was decided to leave them there, leaving another "knothole" for people inside the park to view the field at field level.

Wrigley Field Scoreboard Mystery

During interleague play, when the Yankees play the Mets, the Wrigley scoreboard has panels that read "NY (N)" and "NY (A)". Apparently, the two Los Angeles teams don't rate the same courtesy:

This one was in Anaheim!

Carlos Marmol And The Giant Glove

This one requires a bit of explanation. This glove belongs to one of the Waveland ballhawks. Somehow it made its way into the ballpark during batting practice on Thursday. Several players tried it out, including Carlos Marmol. (Ballhawk, feel free to elaborate if you know more.)

Yes, he caught a couple.

Wrigleyville Invasion Of The Twins Fans

Where's Mauer?

Fans crowd Sheffield Avenue (looking south toward Addison) after Sunday's game... with more Twins fans than Cubs fans in sight.

Blackhawks And Birds At Wrigley

Thanks for a great season!

Thanks for a great season!
Members of the Chicago Blackhawks appear before Saturday's game at Wrigley Field

Is this a Hitchcock movie?
Dozens of ring-billed gulls invade Wrigley Field late in Saturday's game... looking for dinner. "What are all these people doing here? It's our feeding time!"
