My SportsBLOGS colleague John Sickels has some photos posted today at Minor League Ball of Corey and Rich.

what numbers are you looking at?
You looking at his major league debut? Then consider his 4 1/3 innings of hitless relief against MIL.
Hill's acchilles heel has been throwing strikes, not getting hit around.
Well, except...
Griffey's Contract
All the Pie talk eerily reminds me of the rush to get Patterson to the majors. By the time he got there, it seemed we'd been hearing about him for years and as of now he's only 25. The problems with him are so fundamental (pitch selection comes to mind) that I'd rather see Pie spend an extra year in Triple A while someone like Griffey (or even Pierre) is in his place instead.
Agreed on Pie...
I wouldn't put Pie in a major league starting lineup till at least 2007.

Griffey...
Griffey Trade
His per season money is not that bad (although, do to his recent string of injuries - a bit higher then what I would like to see the Cubs pay), but the money that is defered is a deal breaker. There is no way the Cubs will take on that contract. It would keep the club from being able to go get free agents in future years and i do not think Hendry would do something that stupid.
All that being said, if the contract thing could be resolved, I'm all for the Cubs getting Griffey. He is a pretty good outfielder (when he isn't hurt), he is reputed to be a good clubhouse guy and I think that he would help the club greatly.

the question then becomes
Seriously, I see the back-loaded portion of his contract as to being the huge stumbling block for any contender.
I agree with both these comments...
Worth looking into, anyway. Griffey's right -- he's not likely to win a ring if he stays in Cincinnati.
