Ben Broussard to the Mariners.....

According to a post I read on Phantasy Tour.com /Phish

¶ CLEVELAND (AP) _ The Seattle Mariners acquired first baseman Ben Broussard from the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday for a minor league outfielder.

¶ The Indians sent Broussard and cash to the Mariners for Shin-Soo Choo and a player to be named later.

¶ Broussard hit .321 with 13 home runs and 46 RBIs in 88 games with the Indians, but was spotty defensively and committed seven errors.

¶ Choo has spent most of this season at Triple-A Tacoma where he hit .323 with 13 home runs and 48 RBIs. He played in four games for Seattle between July 3-13, going 1-for-11.

¶ The trade came a month after the Mariners got first baseman Eduardo Perez in a deal with the Indians for minor league infielder Asbrudal Cabrera on June 30

¶ Seattle is in last place in the AL West but only 3½ games behind the division-leading Los Angeles Angels.

¶ Choo stole 26 bases in 30 attempts at Tacoma and was picked for the Pacific Coast League's All-Star team. He was a member of Korea's provisional roster for the World Baseball Classic in March.

¶ Seattle will travel to Cleveland to open a three-game series with the Indians on Friday night.

Well, the market for
Todd Walker officially dried up.  Perhaps there is still slim chance the Tigers will give us a rusty infield rake for his services, but I'm not banking on it with Dmitri Wife Beater Young back in the fold.

wow
Dmitri Wife Beater Young back in the fold.

How very mature of you.

I make no apologies
for labeling those who commit domestic violence against females scumbags and moral wretches.  But if you condone such behavior, then the more power to you.  I bet Julio Lugo AND Dmitri Young are on your fantasy team.

Myers is on mine bc
I can't get a decent trade for him.

Oh I'm sorry
because you walk on water and change water into wine right.

No, I'm not defending these men, what they did was deplorable and inexcusable, but that doesn't mean I gain the right to call them out on these things when I don't even know who they are.

So how's it deplorable
if you don't know them??

Contradiction son.

by CubFaninCA on Jul 26, 2006 4:57 PM CDT up reply actions

Don't call me son
I'd kill myself if I were your son.

I'm calling their actions deplorable, are you going to sit there and say hitting a woman isn't deplorable?

I should clarify
because it appears as though I do contradict myself.

The action of hitting a woman is deplorable, but as men themselves I have no right to judge.

Read it again: The action of hitting a woman is deplorable, I reserve right to judge these men as I don't know who they really are.

"Men"
who beat up on women are pieces of crap.

I'd agree
that any man that hits women needs either a serious psychic evaluation or some sort of intervention.

It's not right, anyway you look at it.

Crapola
I guess the rumor that Everett was DFA's for Walker was bogus.  It was for Broussard.  And man, I would have liked to get Choo for Walker.

This is sad news
Oh the joy it would have been having a player named "Shin-Soo Choo" on the team.

Can you imagine?
Can you imagine Harry trying to pronounce that name?? "Shin-chewww ch- ugh-, Gin por tu, ugh, cough cough, gag, cough. Umm, Number 21 is in the line up playing right, I mean left"

You think...
... they'd give him #21?

Which raises an interesting question. How long do you think it'll be before anyone gets #21? Or will the Cubs "unofficially" retire it? Does it have a negative connotation now?
