Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

F0Dome Info - SD thinks he is a Cub

signonsandiego.com/sports/weblog/2007/12/fukodome_to_cubs.html

Way to go Jimbo - details should show up later tonight.  Now we have to move on to upgrading some other spots...  Can Roberts be far behind?

This sure will help the OBP at the top of the order, as well as the defense deficiencies, and only costs around $50 million, and if it is heavily backloaded like the other contracts signed, we still should have plenty of money to upgrade.

I posted in the main thread
That the Pads (says XTRA Sports) were already on to the next tactic -- attempting to acquire Jason Bay from the Bucs for Michael Barrett.

The Pads are still attempting to sign Cameron & Geoff Jenkins.

Sorry about the
duplication, we all posted within 5 minutes of each other, and there was no diaries up when I started my post.

WGN Radio
Dave Kaplan interrupted Milt Rosenberg's show around 9:30 pm to announce it too.  Appears to be four years, roughly $50 million.  Well played, Mr. Hendry.

You ask if Roberts be far behind?  Yes.  Unfortunately I think he could be far behind.  But, like you, I hope not.  If getting Roberts doesn't cost Soto then I suppose the lineup would be, what, Roberts-->Soriano-->Lee-->Ramirez-->Fukudome-->Soto-->Theriot--> Pie.  Toss in DeRosa and Murton assuming either or both remain with the team and that's the kind of lineup that can contend for a pennant.  Now imagine what happens if Pie starts to live up to his promise.
