2008 Community Projections: Bob Howry

This will be the last in the community projection series; we've done eight position players, six starter candidates and three relievers, for a total of 17 of the likely 25-man roster.

Howry does, I suppose, still have a chance to be "The" closer. More likely, he'll be one of the better setup men in the National League again; I say he gets a handful of saves just due to game circumstances.

Probably not a hot tub...
with the advancement in hot tub safety in the past year hot tub related injuries have fallen by almost 30%. They will still make you wet and sweat though.

As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

Wood will be the closer, Howry will spell him occasionally since he probably won't be able to pitch more than 2 days in a rwo

Howry Thoughts
And not one's related to bathing or cooking.  :)  I see him as the de facto closer since he has closer experience (not that it matters to me, but it seems to matter to managers).  The fact that Wood's incentive clauses are linked to games finished might also be a factor if Lou does not have full control over roster decisions.  April might be shaky and he might lose the job for short stretches, but I think he will have more 9th inning appearances than anyone else.

Slow start
Let's hope he doesn't have the same slow start with diminished MPH that he had last year - one of the many reasons our boys struggled the first few months.

Last year, however, they didn't have Marmol from the beginning, which will make a HUGE difference!

Give Hendry and extension already!
