Former Cub Bobby Scales talks about Yu Darvish
The Iowa Cubs are doing a contest until June 9th for fans to vote for the next Iowa Cubs t-shirt giveaway. Last month it was Jake Fox who won, and they gave away Fox shirts at a game last week. This month, the participants are J.R. Mathes, Bobby Scales, Lee Smith and So Taguchi. As I write this, Mathes has a big lead over Scales. As an Iowa Cubs season ticketholder, I appreciate the great season that Mathes is having right now, and I like him to make some sort of small contribution to the big club sometime this season, but I think that Bobby Scales deserves his own shirt day for the contributions he's made to the Cubs this season. So please help me out here and vote for SCALES! http://iowa.cubs.milb.com/index.jsp?sid=t451
Lou talks about the Cubs' call-ups. It'll be interesting to see how he uses Fox. Sad to see Scales go down--hope he finds his way back up.
Theriot the Terrible? Theriot has made a name for himself as a hard-working, humble guy who's willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win. This year, things have changed. Do Bobby Scales, Mike Fontenot, Micah Hoffpauir and Len Kasper like the new "power hitting" Theriot?
So it's Scales you want? I give the people what they want.... Can't get enough Scales.
Sori & Scales on walk-off winner, Lou on his decision to play Gregg instead of sticking with Marmol...and Lou getting some laughs talking about his interaction with an unruly fan!
Scales & Dempster on Thursday's win! Love Scales' line about his marketing team. : )
Seriously, Bobby Scales is the most likeable guy ever. It was great to see how happy all the other guys were for him yesterday when he hit his first MLB homer.
After the game last night (5/12/2009), Bobby Scales called into 'MLB Tonight' to discuss his first major league home run, some of his time in the minors, and how he reacted to getting called up. 4 minutes 15 seconds
