Bleed Cubbie Blue, a Chicago Cubs community

Quite simply, Woody belongs in a Cubs uniform. The Cubs need him here and the Cubs' fans especially need him here. Reeling from a horrifically bad (by recent standards) 2010 season, an uninspired offseason, and the recent death of Ron Santo (poster child for eternal Cubbie optimism), Cubs fans are in dire need of a pick-me-up.

Chico Harlan, in today's Washington Post, reports that in 1998, rookie Kerry Wood made 26 starts for the Chicago Cubs. On nine occasons, manager Jim Riggleman left him in for more than 120 pitches.

I hope it's not in poor taste to link this (though I don't think I've ever done so on my own behalf), but I thought that the LGTers might be interested in this case of (what is hopefully) mistaken identity.
