My prediction is that he will be promoted to Charlie Manuel's coaching staff as bench coach for 2013 and replace him as manager in 2014.
Just so you don't think I'm all Ryne Sandberg, this is a good profile of Mike Quade. He does have an impressive resume and his players said great things about him. He's done a good job and does deserve consideration.
Via George Castle at SB Nation Chicago; some quotes from Grace, in town Saturday to broadcast the White Sox/Tigers game on Fox.
Dave Hoekstra, feature columnist for the Sun-Times, did this nice piece on Ryno and his thoughts about living and working in Des Moines.
Great stuff from Ryno. He wants the job, nothing else.
OK, so this is my own piece -- I wanted to write a longer form piece for SB Nation Chicago about this topic. So have at it. My basic point is that if it's not Girardi (and I doubt he's available), it should be Ryne Sandberg. Time to bring this job back into the Cubs family. Hope you will take the time to read the whole piece.
Sandberg ejected for the fifth time this season.
This showed up in my Yahoo! newsfeed today. Ryno looks like he's all business.
From the Knoxville (TN) News Sentinel, an interview with VP of Player Personnel Oneri Fleita about Ryne Sandberg and some of the other coaches in the farm system. Also nice to see that at least one professional journalist can't spell 'career.'
