Peoria vs Kane at Wrigley Pics

So last night was a very unique game. As you've all heard, Wrigley had over 32,000 fans for the Peoria game. Now I know it's all about the kids but the between inning activites and entertainment kinda ruined the end of close game. The game would have been over an hour before the rain hit. Oh well. Here are a few shots.

Completely Off Topic: Danica Patrick Wins

I'm a huge Cub fan. (Literally and physically) I'm also a huge Danica Patrick fan. (Danica is from Illinois. Roscoe, Ill) That being said I'm happy to celebrate her first Indy Racing League win this early morning. Danica has won the Montegi Twins IRL race In Japan. I can only imagine she is second in line to a win, right behind the Cubs. Danica's odds to win a race are right up there with the Cubs chances at a WSW. (Cubs 7-1 @ SB dot com  Danica has never been better that that to win a race) I don't want to mention the fact she said "I might be a Cards fan.", or the fact she hesitated to sign an 'Old Style' CUBS 16oz beer that the guy in front of me handed her at the signing session at Indy last year.....

Anyway...   there are a few things happening this year that are out of the ordinary, or 'FIRSTS'. I'm all for it. The weather, the Earthquake (see below...I felt it) Danica's 1st win, my 1st Opening Day at Wrigley, my wife actually suggesting camping out in lot 3C at the Indy 500 this year.

Strange things are happening people. Don't be surprised.....

OT www.seatdata.com

If I'm breaking rules then pull this please.

I've seen a few people ask about seats in certian stadiums and sections. I've been using a site called  http://www.seatdata.com/ . It's totaly free so this isn't a plug. You can pick MLB NFL NHL NBA stadiums and arenas or choose by team. You click on the venue then click on your section to see a view. It really is helpful so I suggest it for 1st time trips to stadiums before purchasing tickets. For instance...you want to sit in section 209 at Wrigley but not sure if your view will be blocked...

Now if you want lager images you have to pay but otherwise it's free to use for the small images and very helpful.

A Part of Wrigley

So I FINALLY got my paver (AKA Super Fancy Brick). Now I've wasted money on some pretty ridiculous things, but this is one hot investment. I was jacked to hear about the Wrigley Paver Program and jumped on the chance to have a brick outside Wrigley. Obviously I couldn't think of anything historic or witty to say so I took this opportunity to insult my wifes dog. When the girl on the phone placing my order asked if the dog had a name I told her the dog did indeed have a name that I called it but not one that fell within the guidelines of the program.

Here's the link to the Paver page but it looks like orders are halted for now so check back if you're also interested. Hopefull they'll sell many more.

If you could play any position as a Cub at Wrigley Field for one game what would it be and why?

This is simple for me. I grew up watching Ryne Sandberg patrol 2nd base. The so called worst groomed and toughest 2nd base to play in the MLB at the time. I remember tuning in every day during his NL record breaking 123 game errorless streak on the edge of me bean bag every time a ball came his way. I'd for sure want to stand the same ground Ryno rocked.

GO CUBS!! 2008

Hello Cub fans!

See ya all at Wrigley in 2008! I'll be in the #9 Hobbs Cubbie pinstripes.

Every year I'm more and more excited for the season to start. This year more than ever. Who knows how long I'll live here and be able to go to as many Cub games as I want. The past few years I've been spoiled. If I feel like going to a game I go. It wasn't always this way. Living 30 miles from Wrigley I took for granted the opportunity. Then I thought to myself, when I was a kid growing up in Oklahoma and South Carolina I always said "If I move to Chicago I'll go to EVERY Cub game possible." Then I moved here and found myself slackin big time. So last year I burned it in my brain... if I can go to the game I will. If I ever move I'd never forgive myself for not going to every game possible. Yea, it can get expensive. But what price do you put on trips to Wrigley?

This year will be no different. I think I hit 18 games last year (not counting the games at Miller Park and Cincinnati). Win or lose I had a blast. I expect the same fun times this year.
