OT: LCD vs. Plasma

Hi, i was wondering if you guys can help me out. I am in the market for a new tv and want to know what everyone thinks about the lcd vs. plasma debate. I will be subscribing to Mlb Extra Innings and a full high def package. I am not a gamer but might be tempted to buy something once i have a tv. My primary focus is what will Cubs games look like so i need to know what would be better lcd or plasma. So i am just wanting to know if someone out there has seen the cubs in high def in either format and what baseball is like in general on these screens. I have it narrowed down to 50"+ panasonic viera and pioneer kuro plasmas or a sharp 52" aquos lcd with each model being full 1080p. Your thoughts?

Pictures of my trip to St. Louis and Chicago

I am a huge fan of this site and an occasional poster. My girlfriend and i recently traveled from our home in manitoba, canada to watch the cubs play the cards in st. louis and the cubs play the reds in chicago. We were able to watch the first three games in st. louis, traveled to chicago on the sunday, watched the monday and tuesday games in chicago and flew home on wednesday. We took several hundred pictures with a pentax digital slr. i uploaded all the pictures to a public photo sharing site and organized the best ones into seven different albums. i havent tagged them all yet or written a description for each picture yet but i am working on it. there is an album for all the games we attended plus albums of the gateway arch in st. louis, busch stadium tour and an album of pictures we took while on a boat tour of the chicago river and downtown area. click on the link below:

we had really good seats for the games in st.louis and even better ones in chicago. we sat right in the front row behind homeplate across the aisle from the pink hat guy. there is some really awesome pictures in that album including the mark derosa final at bat and some really good live action pictures. the tour pictures are really nice too and will give anybody who hasnt been to busch stadium or on the river in chicago an idea what they are like. i hope you all like the pictures that my gf took. feel free to comment

Chicago Cubs Legends Great Games DVD Set

I just received my 8 disc dvd set of the cubs legends greatest games. this is an eight disc set that highlights eight cubs and unforgettable performances with full game replays.

http://www.amazon.com/Chicago-Cubs-Legends-Great-Collectors/dp/B000NO23ZS/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-992992 7-7648024?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1181046382&sr=1-1

the eight cubs shown are ryne sandberg, rick sutcliffe, andre dawson, mark grace, kerry wood, sammy sosa, greg maddux and derek lee.

anyone looking for the sandberg game this is your chance to get the full game on dvd. not to mention, mark grace's 3-4 game in game 2 of the '89 nlcs. kerry wood's 20k game, etc and many bonus features.

i am so excited about being able to watch the sandberg game after all these years. 1984 was the year i discovered the cubs when i was 8 years old and wgn was added to our cable tv package. these games bring back a lot of memories, some good and some bad but the games from the 80's are special to me. the 84 and 89 teams will always be my favorite. i hope everybody gets a chance to check out this set. the link i posted is from amazon but i bought mine off of ebay for a little less.

Questions about St. Louis?

I am going to St. Louis to watch the Cubs in september. i know its a long ways away but i have a few questions since i have never been there.

I dont have tickets so i was wondering what the scalper situation is like there in comparison to wrigley field? Should i go there without tickets or bite the bullet and pay top dollar on ebay or to some ticket broker online?

I am staying within walking distance of the ballpark at the W S Hotel & Spa. I got the room for about $100 a night. Is there somewhere else close to the ballpark, reasonable in price and recommended?

What else is worth seeing or doing in STL?

The games are sept. 14, 15 and 16. who else is going? Maybe there should be a BCB party saturday night?

To round out my trip i am going to chicago for the  17th and 18th games vs. cincinnati. i managed to get dugout box seats for those by the visitors dugout.

Anyways, i hope someone here has some good tips about st. louis and what to expect. thanks for any help. rh
