It has been reported on Chicago radio this morning that on a comebacker hit by Kansas City's Mark Teahen yesterday, the last out of his only inning pitched, Joe Borowski suffered a broken wrist and will be out for at least 3-4 weeks.
Chicagosports.com now has a few more details, just posted. Let's hope the story's contention that LaTroy Hawkins is now the closer, is just idle speculation.
This is a real shame, as Regular Joe's comeback was one of the best feel-good stories of the spring.
I suspect Jim Hendry is firing up the cellphone and calling Dave Dombrowski at Tigers camp right about now.
Better news: Kerry Wood may start in an actual game this week, perhaps as soon as Thursday vs. Oakland or Friday vs. the LAA's.
