Phil Comes Up With An Idea

I was talking to Phil this morning on the phone, letting him know I got him a ticket for Sunday, and he says he has an idea to replace Nomar -- who, incidentally, apparently has a ruptured groin, and will be out at least two months.

Ronny Cedeno has been called up to take Nomar's roster spot.

Anyway, Phil says, "How about Barry Larkin"?

And the more I thought about it, the more this makes some sense. Larkin is 40, it would cost nothing player-wise and probably not that much dollar-wise to get him, you'd know it'd be for only one year, and it would at least buy some time to figure out what to do next.

It sounded ridiculous at first -- but why not? As Phil says, "Think about it."
