The Cubs now have perhaps the hottest pitcher in all the minor leagues, 19-year-old Sean Gallagher, pitching for the Class A Peoria Chiefs in the Midwest League.
I got an e-mail from Ben Lipson of Top Prospect Alert detailing Gallagher's feats so far this year:
He started a 10 inning combined no-hitter on April 20th. Then he gave up 2 hits in his next start, and last night threw another 6 no-hit innings. On the year he's got a 0.00 ERA (6 unearned runs allowed) allowing 10 hits, 6 walks, and 37 strikeouts in 29 innings.
